What is a heavy single unit vehicle?

A heavy vehicle is any heavy single-unit truck, tractor or bus, with a gross weight or registered weight of over 5,000 kg.

If you travel on Highway 407 ETR without a transponder, you will incur camera charges and may be charged under the Highway Traffic Act. Add additional transponders to your fleet for just $9.95 per year.

Toll charges apply to all trips, even if you have a transponder. Your trip is based on the time of entry. Applicable taxes are not included.

Security Deposit (when applicable) For business accounts, applies to the first 20 transponders up to a maximum of $1,000. $50 per transponder
Monthly Lease Fee Charged monthly, regardless of trip count, plus an additional $1 per month for each transponder on the same account. $3.95

Annual Lease Fee The annual fee is non-refundable and charged yearly, regardless of trip count. An extra $9.95 will be applied for each additional transponder on the same account, or $5 for each transponder added less than six months from account activation. $24.50

Transponder Replacement Fee Applied in the event a transponder is misused, abused, lost or stolen, or not returned to us. $50

Unrecognizable Plate Charge Applied each time a vehicle uses Highway 407 ETR without a valid transponder, and the front or rear licence plates are altered, not visible and/or not recognizable. Applies only to Highway 407 ETR travel. $50
Returned Payment Fee Applied for each returned unpaid payment due (for example, due to insufficient funds). $35 $35
Enforcement Fee Applied to accounts submitted to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles for plate denial in respect of the collection of an account. $20 $20

What happens if we can’t accurately capture your trip?

In the event that entry to Highway 407 ETR is not captured by our system, you may see the following charges.

Charge name Description
Calculated Trip Toll The toll is calculated based on the average distance of the trips made using your transponder in the past 72 days.
Flat Toll (Peak Times) Up to $19.85 Applied when the vehicle has a transponder, there is insufficient transponder trip history and travel is between 6 – 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 – 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Flat Toll (Off-Peak Times) Up to $12.80 Applied when the vehicle has a transponder, there is insufficient transponder trip history and travel is outside of peak times above.
Minimum Trip Toll Applied when the vehicle does not have a transponder. A toll is charged at the entry or exit nearest the recorded part of travel, plus camera charge.
